Evaluating
The management function of assessing results against intentions and making improvements.
Evaluating is the function that closes the loop, and it is the one delegation must never give away entirely. Counting output, reconciling cash, tracking waste, and reviewing an employee's performance all belong here.
Often confused with
- Performance Evaluation
- Evaluating is the ongoing management function; a performance evaluation is one scheduled instance of it, usually aimed at a person or a result.
