Internal Factor
A factor inside a business that affects its performance and is within its control.
Internal factors are the business's own capabilities: financial, physical, and human resources, plus intangible assets such as brand recognition, reputation, and intellectual property. They fill the strengths and weaknesses half of a SWOT grid.
Often confused with
- External Factor
- Internal factors are inside the business and can be changed by it; external factors sit outside and can only be responded to.
