An organization that serves the public good and reinvests surplus funds into its mission.
Often confused with
- Business
- A nonprofit may still sell goods and earn more than it spends; the difference is that no surplus may reach owners.
- Social Enterprise
- A social enterprise may pay profit to owners; a nonprofit must reinvest every surplus in the organization.
